Magic & Benefits of PHA

Weekends are always so magical, right! And mine was specially magical because I paid a visit to the wonderful world of Disney!

Every-time I go to Magic Kingdom I can't help but take a picture of Cinderella's Castle. Magic Kingdom is by far my favorite Disney Park, it really is magical!

Heloooo Minnie!

I love going to Disney because no matter how old you are you can't help feeling like a kid :)

What activities make you feel like a kid?

I have gotten a couple of e-mails asking what type of workouts I am doing on Jillian Michael's "Making the Cut" program, so I decided to provide an example:

This is Day 8 (tomorrow):

These circuits are to be done quickly, the longest break Jillian recommends is a 30 sec. break after each circuit. Jillian separates the workouts by training the front of the lower body on chest-shoulder-triceps day, or the back of the lower body on back and biceps day. In the book Jillian says that:
By working the upper and lower body in supersets, you will be shunting your blood back and forth during the upper and lower body, which allows you to burn twice as many calories, due to a phenomenon known as peripheral heart action, or PHA. When you get the blood moving between the upper and lower body as constantly as possible during a workout , you greatly reduce the formation and build up of lactic acid, which is the cause of muscle fatigue. PHA also benefits you in the long term by optimizing muscle development and preventing muscle damage and burnout.
I still have 23 days to go, but so far so SOAR good!

  4. aw, disney! The only thing I hate about Disney is how ridiculous the ticket prices are (no wonder I never went as a kid!). I wish they can lower the prices down for at least a week, it wouldn't hurt them geez! especially with the economy. booo, glad you had fun. 23 days, you can do it!

  11. Yay! Disney makes me so happy. I've been twice, but I was little both times so I'd love to go back. I love all things about amusement parks and characters dressed up! I think playing mini golf and waterslides are two things that always remind me of childhood and fun!

Great workout! Looks like you're doing so so well!
